Small Bathroom Ideas

When I say our primary bathroom is small — it is small!!

By today’s standard, a small primary bath is a crime, but we’re not letting the size discourage us. We are going to make it beautiful and functional and we are so excited!!

We want our bathroom to have a lux feel, like a hotel or spa bathroom. Since the room is small, we are keeping it light and bright. Many times when you have a small space, if you are a little darker on the floor and go lighter on top – it brings the eye upward and helps to make the space feel bigger.

When deciding on the finishes for the house in general, I knew I wanted to keep it timeless & classic, yet modern. What is more timeless than marble?! Nothing. Marble has been around forever and it gives a lux vibe so marble is what I chose for the shower and the floor.

And because our bathroom is so small, we are able to spend a little bit more on the tile! So having a small bathroom doesn’t seem so bad after all lol.

I chose marble from The Builder Depot! The quality is fantastic and they ship fast! I ordered samples first and I highly recommend always ordering samples. I originally thought I was going to love the Venato Carrara, but it didn’t have enough gray veining for our liking so I then ordered Bianco Carrara and that hit it out of the park! Don’t get me wrong, Venato is beautiful and is pretty sparkly, we just wanted a bit more gray.

For the shower we decided on a polished finish and for the floor we decided on honed. Honed is a more matte finish to help with being less slippery.

At first I was leaning towards a hexagon shape for the shower walls (hence the hexagon samples), but now we are going with a 4″ x 12″ rectangle in Carrara Bianco. The floor tiles will be this beautiful black and white 6″ hexagon Carrara Bianco tile. Having black on the floors will make the floors a little darker and pairing that with the white tiles in the shower, will keep it lighter and move the eye up and it will make the space feel larger.

I’m so excited to see everything come together– I cannot wait!!
